team offsites

offsites

Bringing your team together at an offsite, gives leaders and their teams an an opportunity that is rare in today’s connected world – permission to escape the noise ‘of their desk’ and immerse themselves in what it means and feels like to be part of a team.

At Curve we have run off sites and away days for teams in global organisations like HSBC, Coca Cola and the UN, the world’s biggest consultancies like Accenture and WPP as well as start-ups, NGOs and those leading the fight for a more sustainable world.

“The hairs on the back of my head are standing up. It’s so exciting to see our vision so clearly and know what was can do to get there.”

team coaching

team coaching

Our team coaching approach starts with a facilitated workshop to define the team goals and create a shared vision. Each of the team members then works with a coach on a one-to-one basis to develop self-awareness, a sense of purpose, an understanding of their own behaviour and a way forward through challenges. This builds individual skills and enables the team to strengthen their relationships and the way that they work together. The programme concludes with a team coaching reflection where successes are recognised, learning identified and a commitment to further change created.

“I didn’t think it was possible to learn this much and feel this differently. If you’d said to me when we started: ‘trust me, this is where you’ll get to,’ I would never have believed you.”

KATHLEEN ENRIGHT Managing Director, Salter Baxter

leadership skills workshops

giving and receiving feedback

Knowing how to give and receive feedback is essential for high-quality, innovative work and a happy and productive team, but it’s often overlooked. We’ll explore tried and tested feedback frameworks and find the one that best fits your team culture. You will have opportunities to practise giving and receiving feedback and design your own framework to take away.

understanding and navigating change

Engaging positively with change and leading change in your team is a superpower in today’s world of work. Change happens whether you want it or not – learn how we all react to change through the four stages of Deny, Resist, Explore and Commit. Armed with this knowledge you’ll explore culture, leadership and management tools that will help you take the driving seat with confidence.

we see people through stories, without stories we aren’t anyone.

finding your leadership style

Too often, people read articles about what makes a good leader and try to fit themselves to that mould but it’s important to recognise that there are many different leadership styles. Exploring different leadership models as a group, you’ll find the one that allows you to connect with your values and strengths, lead authentically and give and receive support.

unlocking your team’s potential

There’s a big difference between a team that performs OK and a team that gets outstanding results. We’ll help you understand your strengths and blind spots, the stages of team development and how to meet your team at their current stage. You’ll practise team-building activities that will turn strangers into teammates and transform the team from good to great.

“Curve believes that people and companies have the answers and solutions within them, and what Curve does well through its facilitation is help people tap into them.”

SHANNA WENDT, Vice President of Communications, Coca-Cola European Partners

navigating stakeholder relationships

Every organisation is made from a complex web of relationships between different people. Learn how to understand the dynamics of these relationships and the strengths and weaknesses within your own web of connections. Create an action plan to address pain points and areas of opportunity going forward.

balancing short- and long-term thinking

For teams to succeed, they need to understand the difference between day-to-day delivery and long-term strategic goals. Working under pressure, they can often end up drowning in the day-to-day. This workshop is an opportunity to step back and learn how to prioritise. Work out what you can do yourself, what you can collaborate on and what you can delegate.

give light! it’s not unprofessional to laugh (mostly).

peer coaching

Peer-to-peer coaching is a powerful way to learn and grow, solve your own problems and start something new. Each person will be paired with a peer to form a long-lasting support duo. You’ll learn how to use the Scale and GROW coaching models, coaching techniques like active listening and the confidence and skills to put what you learn into practise day-to-day.

strategic thinking tools and techniques

When the possibilities are endless but resources aren’t, strategic thinking is critical. Having ways to think deeply about problems and decide between competing options helps teams feel more confident in their decision-making and makes those decisions more robust. This workshop introduces a variety of methods to aid strategic thinking and offers the chance to practise them on real challenges, understand what works for you and your organisation and be able to use them immediately.

tell me more.

storytelling

The ability to tell powerful stories that galvanise internal teams and stakeholders or excite external audiences, is a leadership superpower. In this workshop we draw on the editorial experience within the Curve team to explain how journalists tell stories that speak to their readers’ interests and how organisations can use the same ideas to create cultural messaging. We then introduce strategic frameworks to create story angles and work together on example briefs.

while emotions may seem frivolous to some, they in fact drive everything leaders care about.

emotionally intelligent leadership

Teams who feel they can be honest about how they’re feeling and coping are more motivated, resilient and able to deal with change. Our guest speaker will share research findings uncovered during the pandemic on what defines great leadership. After a Q&A session you’ll discuss these findings and explore how you can adapt your leadership style to the Emotionally Intelligent Leadership model.

inclusive leadership

Our expert guest speaker will share personal stories from their wide-ranging experience and explain how you can translate the lessons and theory of Inclusion, Equity and Diversity into positive action. As a group, you will reflect on the talk, explore the 13 principles of inclusive leadership and take away ideas for what you can change tomorrow and beyond.

from mistakes.

adopting a growth mindset

People with a growth mindset receive all feedback as constructive and view all challenges as opportunities. They learn and develop faster and push themselves further. Our expert coach will introduce the Growth Mindset Framework and, as a group, you’ll reflect on your professional life, identify areas for growth and co-create a plan to realise your ambitions using the Growth Mindset model.

facilitation training

hybrid workshop design and facilitation

Facilitating hybrid workshops can be the worst of both worlds: stressful for the facilitators and a poor experience for the participants. In this workshop you will learn how to practically engage in-person and remote participants, enable inclusivity and drive creativity, spot risks and pitfalls and plan to avoid them, and you’ll receive direct feedback from Curve facilitators on your own hybrid workshop design.

in-person workshop design and facilitation

Skilled facilitators create the right chemistry to build successful teams, change mindsets, define visions and goals, and turn strategy into plans and actions. We’ll cover all the basics, from building an agenda and managing energy, to dealing with challenging behaviour. You’ll practise tried and tested exercises to get the very best out of your future participants.

if it’s not working,
it’s time to do it differently.

remote workshop design and facilitation

Remote workshops are cheaper, more accessible and better for the planet. With the right facilitation skills, your remote workshop can be even more fun and productive than an in-person session. Learn how to love remote technology, encourage on-screen collaboration, and keep everyone engaged. There will be plenty of opportunity to practise as you learn.

creating collaborations

Teams collaborate for three main outcomes; to create, control and compete. To get great results from your team, you need to understand these three archetypes and the energy level, mindset and tools each one needs. Working in small teams, you’ll discover proven models for successful collaboration and create a strong foundation for your own collaboration strategy.

“The team felt like they had a new-found confidence in their ability to run engaging and productive remote workshops. They applauded the fact that the Remote Workshop Workshop delivered the right mix of practical remote tools and soft skills to take forward.”

SCOTT MCGREGOR, Innovation Lead, Telefonica

managing hybrid collaboration

When your teams are split between home and the office, getting them to collaborate effectively can be a struggle. If you don’t have the right facilitation skills, their morale and productivity can plummet. Learn exercises, tools and techniques to build strong and connected hybrid teams and manage behaviours to get great collaboration across the team.

reframing problems

Often our ability to solve problems is limited by the perspective from which we come at them. Learn Reframing: a methodology that enables you to break apart a difficult challenge and identify the most interesting and effective ways to respond to it. It’s a super-powerful structured way to rethink commonly-held beliefs and assess your assumptions.
